Notre Dame Virtual School

kristen

Sr. Kristin Hokanson, SNDdeN is principal and creator of The Notre Dame Virtual School.

The Notre Dame Virtual School was envisioned in 2001 and began with seven schools and 40 students in the United States and Britain. The goal of NDVS is to link and network electronically Notre Dame Schools and Ministries around the world, in order to share our Mission and their educational resources. Since then, the Notre Dame Virtual School (#NDVS, #NotreDameSchools) includes schools from Belgium, Britain, Brazil, Congo Brazzaville, Democratic Republic of Congo, Haiti, Japan, Nigeria, Kenya, Peru, South Africa, South Sudan, United States, and Zimbabwe.

The future goals for NDVS are to strengthen the links among our educational ministries around the world and to expand the number of schools and students involved and served. This year NDVS is providing online resources on the 75th Anniversary of the United Nations (#75UN), the Sustainable Development Goals (#SDGs), and the largest and furthest-reaching global conversation to build the peaceful and prosperous future that we want.

The Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur value Communication of all its forms! We bond with one another through verbal and non-verbal communications, for building and strengthening our relationships internationally and cross-culturally, and for collaborating with our Associates, Notre Dame Mission Volunteers, Co-workers, and Partners in Mission. We network for the Mission of the Gospel, the Church and our Religious Congregation in making known God’s goodness in our time, and in all the places where we serve. We commit ourselves to stand with those made poor by the unjust structures of the society.
