Fifty years ago on June 22, 1969, Julie Billiart, the woman who started the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, was declared a Saint by the Catholic Church. The qualities in her life that moved the Church to declare her a Saint are as important today as they were at the end of the 1700s and beginning of the 1800s when Julie lived and in the late 1960s when she was canonized. How can we experience St. Julie’s spirit alive all around us and in us today? These four modules will provide an opportunity to identify how we express in our day, as St. Julie did in hers, the goodness all around us and the goodness of God.
Each of the modules includes an activity for you to share your insights on Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #StJulie2day. This hashtag makes it possible for you to see how members of Notre Dame Learning Communities around the world are Living St. Julie’s Spirit Today.
We also invite you to gather with others for a world-wide day of Living St. Julie’s Spirit on June 22, 2019, the 50thanniversary of her canonization. You will be able to see pictures and videos of how St. Julie’s spirit is alive through members of Notre Dame Learning Communities around the world as we make known God’s goodness through our hearts and hands!
